We only use sustainably sourced domestic and exotic hardwoods from local mills and from other small U.S. based business.  

• We use non-toxic, zero VOC, food grade wood glue-- the same wood glue used for wooden cutting boards that you use to cut your vegetables.
• Our own custom blend of 100% organic olive oil and organic food grade white beeswax.
• We use Kiln dried wood which is an expensive and complicated process in which the wood has been dried under high heat controlled conditions. 
• This eliminates the voids that become breeding grounds for mold, mildew, and bacteria.  
• It sanitizes the wood killing off pests and larva.  All the stuff you don't want your little one's hands on when they eventually find that toy into their mouths.
• We believe purchasing from mills that use this process is worth the investment.
